Luci Kwak, an award winning Korean-American filmmaker, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her fascination with the complexity of human relationships led her to study psychology at UCLA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BacheloraO(TM)s of Arts degree. Luci's passion for film led her to pursue an MFA in Cinema at San Francisco State University. Ms. KwakaO(TM)s debut film, "Return to Grace" won 8 awards internationally. Most notably, the Grand Jury Prize for "Best Bay Area Short" at the 41st San Francisco International Film Festival, the Bronze Plaque" and "Honorable Mention" at the 46th Columbus International Film Festival, the Princess Grace Award, and the Cary Grant Film Award from the Princess Grace Foundation. Luci's second film "The Theater of Martin Lim" starring the acclaimed Robert Ito, won "Best in Show" at the Hope and Dreams Film Festival, and an "Honorable Mention" at the 50th Columbus International Film Festival. She recently directed her first HD production entitled, "Beyond the SilenceaO and is currently in post-production on a 35mm short entitled, aOoeUnconditionalaO.
