Destri Martino
Destri Martino graduated from the University of Southern California in 1997 where she directed four short student films. The following year found her directing two local cable commercials that ran for two years in the Ventura County area. She also spent several years working in various roles on commercial and feature film production teams (from p.a. to production manager) while she honed her skills directing short films with Group 101 and Filmmakers Alliance (FA). Her short film, The Gap, was featured in the Video Theater program at Filmmakers Alliance's 2005 VisionFest screening at the DGA in Los Angeles. While pursuing a Masters degree in media and communications at London School of Economics (2005-2006), she was never far from a camera. Destri worked on university-sponsored commercials and was a photographer for the LSE student journal, The Script. She is currently enrolled in the year long Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA where she is developing two feature film scripts. Destri is starting 2007 on a high note, having been chosen to participate in the 2007 FA Short Film Lab which will give her the opportunity to develop her short script, Phlegm, for production later this year.
