Aleesa Adams
Aleesa Adams directed several short films, dance videos and documentary shorts outside of school projects, and has spent almost two years working on developing and raising money for her first feature.
After beginning film training at NYU, Aleesa moved to Los Angeles where she completed numerous classes at UCLA in Directing, Cinematography, Producing, and Screenwriting. During this time she also attended the prestigious 8 week Acting Shakespeare Program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
In 2003 Aleesa co-founded a (now dissolved) film and theatre company which resulted in a short film, a play, and several short film scripts. In 2005 she directed, co-produced and acted in the dramatic short film The Man Who Couldn't Dance. In December 2008 she directed, edited & co-produced a comedic short film titled Love Lessons.
Eventually, preparing to be a director led to editing as a good way to pay the bills while utilizing her filmmaking skills. Since training in at Video Symphony TV & Film School, Aleesa worked on 8 films, webisodes and trailers as editor, assistant editor or post production assistant. Highlights have been Walden Media's "Nim's Island" with Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler, Jerry Bruckheimer's "G-Force," and the documentary "Voices of Uganda."
She still hopes to direct a feature or find opportunities to direct TV!
